Answer preview

The exclusionary rule protects defendants in a criminal case from illegal searches, and the use of evidence obtained illegally against them under the fourth amendment. However, the exclusionary rule has exceptions that allow for the benefit of evidence that police officers may get without the defendant’s consent. The three exceptions, in this case, are; independent source doctrine, inevitable Discovery, and attenuation principle.
