Many times people say “I can’t remember what I had for dinner last night!” and they are likely joking, but people do forget information all the time.  There several possible cellular mechanisms for forgetting information.  Describe one such mechanism and how you would experimentally determine that it is essential for the behavioral outcome of forgetting.
