Slavery is one of the most sensitive topics that attract varied responses from different groups of people. It can be defined as a situation where a human owns another (slave). In this case, a slave is considered the property of another person in such a way it can be owned, bought, or sold at the owner’s choice (Adams, 11). The slaves deprived the free person of rights enjoyed by other people. They were considered the objects of law but not the subject. The history of slavery is long-standing and has its roots in ancient Greece and Roman civilization.
