Answer previewAccording to Hooks (2000), women worldwide have made incredible efforts for freedom against patriarchy and male domination. Non-whites are probably the first women to resist male supremacy. Unfortunately, feminist leaders in the United States fighting for gender equality did not recognize the similar movements in other parts of the world. The white supremacist attitude, especially neocolonialism, influences other countries around the globe. The early feminism was a response towards neocolonialism, but the contemporary feminists disregarded religion, race, gender, and nation. The feminist leader in the United States viewed the “third world” nations as uncivilized, barbaric, and described the sexism in third world nations as more dangerous and brutal than the one in the United States.
