After a product has done well locally marketers always think of taking the marketing the product overseas to capture additional customers as well as obtaining marketing exposure across the different regions. However, globalization of a brand is not always that easy. Some companies have failed in the process of making their products known overseas. (www.youtube.com). I believe there are several factors that can contribute to the failure of companies in international marketing. Legal and regulatory policies and consumers’ culture are the major external factors that need to be considered. Companies fail more not because of the legal and the regulatory barriers but because they fail to consider the impact of cultural differences. Marketing overseas means the company is exposing itself to different cultures. Companies are always expected to use marketing that appeals to different cultural and ethnic identities.(313words)
