Leadership in the 21st century requires all kinds of leaders to have divergent thinking and cognitive flexibility. These leaders should be willing to take risks and motivate their followers. However, according to Torres (2013), leaders are not working to their fullest because of failing to reflect on how they can thrive. They lack the courage to abandon their past and they fail to establish how they can dare to be different. Having a vision-minded leadership approach in the 21st century leads to infinite possibilities, and this brings people together in the achievement of organizational success.
