In their study, Reiss-Brennan, Brunisholz, Dredge, Briot, Grazier, Wilcox, & James (2016) investigates the connection between receiving the primary care services through traditional practice management (TPM) and team-based care (TBC) practices with the health care utilization, patient outcome, and health costs. According to Reiss-Brennan et al. (2016), there is no enough evidence to indicate the benefits and accountability of the integration between the physical and mental healthcare teams.  This practice was first put in Place by intermountain mental healthcare (IMC), which integrated, psychological, and interdisciplinary mental teams.  The utilization of the model in MHI indicated an improved quality outcome, higher satisfaction, decreased utilization, and reduced health care cost.  Although the team-based approach appears encouraging, more research is needed to support its application in the large delivery system.
