Healthcare multidisciplinary teams promote coordinated care delivery in healthcare settings to meet patients’ complex needs in an environment where the demands change daily. It is unlikely to find health professionals working solely in their scope of practice in the healthcare setting. I have learned that such silo practices often lead to service execution challenges, creating barriers in meeting the desired healthcare expectations of quality care and patient safety. (2017) introduce the concept of utilizing a sociotechnical approach to promote teamwork. Learning about the sociotechnical approach has helped me realize its benefits in enhancing cooperation in diverse healthcare settings.
