Answer preview

The assigned child is a 7-year-old Hispanic patient that is overweight. The patient lives with her overweight mother over the week and father who is not overweight during the weekends. Childhood obesity is a prevalent public health issue in the 21st century and is highly associated with the risk of cardiac health issues and diabetes. Psychosocial disorders are other health issues associated with increased Body Mass Index (BMI) in children. The additional information needed to assess the patient’s weight-related condition further includes biological, genetic, and environmental factors.
