SHRM Code of Ethics is important in every organization because they help professionals to observe high ethical standards. SHRM has formulated guideline that helps professionals to behave well and to achieve the goals of the organizations in which they work. Under professional development, one of the guidelines is to pursue learning opportunities (SHRM, 2014). As an HR professional, I propose pursuing an advanced degree and certification programs as a learning opportunity that will help me advance my knowledge in HR. Today, many universities are providing certificates and advanced degrees related to the human resource profession. Enrolling to courses for an advanced degree will help me to become more competent in how different HR functions are carried out. Also, I can pursue SHRM based certification programs. SHRM certificate helps a professional to be an example for others in the organization. It will also show that I am conversant with the principles of HR.
