I do not agree with the fact that when setting up a hypothesis test, it is essential that the claim remains written in the alternative hypothesis. The alternative hypothesis in statistical hypothesis testing is a massive rival to the null hypothesis. The null and alternative hypothesis are always compared using a statistical hypothesis test.
