I selected this article because it addresses the plight experienced by pregnant women, precisely the Romani women. In Eastern Europe, they are the largest minority group that has been subjected to racism and discrimination. The lack of healthcare access among Romani women relates to the clinical issue of interest since it shows how racism is a barrier to maternal healthcare. In the designed research, Janevic et al. (2011) ensured that the selected women did not feel coerced to participate in the study as an essential ethical consideration.
