Influence of Technology on Confidentiality

 

Post by Day 4 an explanation of two ways technology might influence confidentiality. Then explain how technology might influence compliance with HIPAA or FERPA(whichever is most relevant to your specialization). Finallydescribe an ethical situation involving technology and explain a strategy you might use to address this situation.

With today’s advances in technology, psychologists have an enormous task of ensuring that they maintain the confidentiality of their clients. The confidential information that psychologists get from their clients may regard their treatment plans, records and personal or family affairs. At times, the professionals have to communicate with their clients through emails, telephone, and other internet platforms.
