here, this will help you.

We will use the Canvas on-line discussion system to empower class discussion and help you keep up on the readings. Here’s how: Before each class that has a reading you’ll have a chance to contribute an “agenda item” to the class discussion. Pick a short passage from that day’s readings that you find especially important, relevant, troubling or confusing. Then post that item (include a citation) and a short justification on the discussion board. Do not just ask for a definition, or say you were surprised, puzzled, etc. We’ll use those items to organize discussion. If your item is from the Tuesday reading post it by 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. Items posted after 7:30 a.m. will not count. Use the same patterns on Thursdays. You need to do this at least 10 times during the semester. (You should feel free to argue with me or your classmates on this discussion board, but keep it civil.)

  • Include one cited quote from the reading or a classmate’s post.
  • Make an argument or counterargument, or pose a detailed question. Do not simply agree or disagree.
  • Write at least 100 words in each post.
  • Use proper spelling, punctuation and grammar.

You will not get credit for simply repeating classmates’ observations.
