Hello,
I have attached the paper guidelines, grading rubric, the case that you must read (pdf format), and the six ethical theories which you must choose ONE from. Please read very thoroughly the paper guidelines, grading rubric, case, and the six ethical theories to choose the best one out of the six. The paper is 8-12 pages with it being 1.5 spaced. This paper is worth a big part of my overall grade and I must do very well on it. If you have any questions let me know. Below I have given you what the professor sent to our class for more information…

I have attached the scoring rubric that I will use in grading your paper, and make sure you read it and cover all the issues in each section of the rubric. The rubric has 5 major grading areas that relate to the SUGGESTED subdivisions for your paper. You may combine various sections of the paper but I want headings so I can understand what you are doing and apply the rubric. Suggested, and only suggested subdivision headings are:
oDescription and explanation of the TS issue. A short explanation of the issue and its importance. For example, what were conditions like that caused Adam Smith to write the Wealth of Nations.
oHistory of the TS issue and why it is important. What is the importance of the issue today? Some of the issues don’t have a lot of history.
oAnswers to the Critical Thinking and Reflection question answers. Answer the questions.
oArguments for and against the issue. What are the pros and cons of the issue from the two authors. More of a summary of the key points they make in their paper.
oYour recommendation based on your analysis. What would you recommend and why? This is your personal opinion supported by facts based on your reading and understanding of the two points of view.
oApplication of a selected theory or theories to the issue. Apply an ethical theory to your reasoning and recommendation..
oConclusion. Short summary of your paper. A couple of paragraphs describing what you learned and how it might influence your thinking.
Reading the editor’s comments before and after your issue should give you some insight and help you organize your paper and respond to the suggested points above.
MGT. 444 Spring 2020 Taking Sides Paper
The Taking Sides (TS) issue that you will write about is determined by your team number and the “yes” topic assigned to your team in the TS schedule. For example, if you are on Team #1, the TS Schedule on page 7 of the syllabus indicates that your yes topic is “Is CEO Compensation Justified?” and this is your topic. Your paper will review both the “yes” and “no” sides of the issue. Your paper should be your own, and you are not to collaborate with other students.
Your paper is due on Turnitin on May 1. Late papers will be marked down.
Suggested topics to be discussed in your paper are:
- Describe and explain the TS issue in neutral terms.
- Review the history of the TS issue and explain why the TS issue is important and especially why it is important today.
- Answer the “Critical Thinking and Reflection” questions for each issue. These questions are listed in the Exploring the Issue section on the last page of each issue. Don’t repeat the questions but do list your answers by the number of each question.
- Review two or maybe three main arguments of both the yes and no side of the issue.
- Make a recommendation based on your analysis and the arguments that support your recommendation.
- Apply one of the six ethical theories that you studied in BA 300 and that we reviewed in class this semester to your recommendation. A list of the six theories is on BB under course documents.
Paper Guidelines
- Your name should be in the top right corner of the first page of your paper along with Management 444 and your section # (02 or 04)
- Your paper should be a minimum of 8 pages and a maximum of 12 pages
- Your paper should have one (1) inch margins
- It should be 1 ½ (1.5) line-spaced
- Typeface is either in 12-point Courier or Times New Roman
- Each of the seven major topics headings listed below should clearly identify the topic in your paper through a sub-head. A sub-head marks a subdivision of your paper, i.e., “History of the Taking Sides Issue.” The subdivisions should be:
- Description and explanation of the TS issue
- History of the TS issue and why it is important
- Answers to the Critical Thinking and Reflection question answers
- Arguments for and against the issue
- Your recommendation based on your analysis
- Application of a selected theory or theories to the issue
- Conclusion
- Use page numbers at the bottom right of each page.
- If you use sources outside of TS article, all sources must be identified in footnotes and in a bibliography. WEB pages are not an appropriate source. Remember, Turnitin will review your paper for plagiarism and/or collaboration.
- Strict adherence to grammar and spelling should be followed
