The psychodynamic theory, holds abnormal personality as the rationale behind the delinquency, further stating that an unconscious mental process formed early in life, by traumatic experiences early in life shape the behaviors of delinquency. Then, the social learning theory, holds, that we all learn and have the potential to be criminals due to societal influences, such as illegal or criminal acts eg, being surrounded by gangs, gang involvement are more that exposes one to a particular lifestyle.

2)Develop a theory of juvenile delinquency that supports practical and efficient managment of juvenile justice system components and related service delivery mechanisms?

The theory that I believe would support practical and efficient management of juvenile justice systems service delivery mechanisms, would be one that has a holistic approach to engaging delinquency. One that provides total care services with consideration, for a range of influences, such as, societal, mental health, biological, sociological, and psychological factors. I further believe that if the training and care provided to juveniles encompassed a multi view perspective, staff and management will have better responses, making them more likely to engage juveniles, in providing or delivering a better quality of care.

3)Analyze historical and contemporary interventions designed to reduce or prevent juvenile delinquency.

Analyze historical and contemporary interventions designed to reduce or prevent juvenile delinquency. Then, the houses of refuge was a historical offering for juveniles in the 19th century, but overcrowding, deterioration, and staff abuse became a major concern. The more contemporary movements include rehabilitation, and in my view, a combination of treatment options and ideas would likely be effective for reducing and preventing delinquency on a case by case basis.

Identify the basic legal tenets that govern the treatment and disposition of juveniles The legal system is creating a separation and labeling of juveniles based on the reason for their appearance in court and the facts surrounding their case. Therefore, many states have created three categories for juveniles: delinquents, abused or neglected children, and children in need of services. Delinquents are classified as juveniles who have committed acts that would result in criminal prosecution if committed by an adult. Abused or neglected children are those who are suffering from physical or emotional abuse or those who have committed an offense or petty criminal offenses. And, children in need of services are ones who are not abused or neglected but they are deprived or needy. These children are usually from poverty stricken homes and they require mere nutrition and basic health care.
