Answer preview
Some of the leadership traits and characteristics exhibited by Ron Finley include the following; firstly, he has demonstrated servant leadership which is demonstrable in his desire to put the needs of other individuals over his. It can be said that ensuring the well-being of others is his driving force since the desire to inspire value for the community is evident in his actions. For example, he spots a gap which is a food problem and decides that the problem is the solution (Finley, 2013). This inspires him to plant a food forest in a parkway in front of his house, and this turns out to be a groundbreaking project for him (Finley, 2013).
Another time, a mother and a daughter show up in front of his house, and from the look of things, they are hungry and in need of food (Hannum, Deal, Howard, Lu, Ruderman, Stawiski & Price, 2011). Secondly, he demonstrates transformational leadership, and this is evident in his optimism and full confidence in what the future holds for the project.
