LETTER TO JON STEWART ABOUT CONGRESS

Letter to Jon Stewart about Congress

For this assignment, I would like for you to write a message directly to Stewart (begin your essay with “Dear John”). I want you to challenge Stewart, although this does not mean that you must disagree with everything he says (it’s okay to agree with him on some points). More generally, I want you to provide a balanced explanation. Is Congress itself the problem? Or are there other factors at play?

You must draw from the article by Hamilton (“Ten Things”). Also, you must also do your research. Find at TWO sources to help support your position. Follow site for “Ten Things”: http://www.dirksencenter.org/print_resources_polis…

1.Follow the formatting guidelines used for other essays.

2.As usual, incorporate your outside sources into your essay--I have to be able to see how you used the sources

3.Write at least 350 words. Keep in mind; this is the bare minimum; you should write more.

4.Write your essay as a letter/Facebook post/YouTube comment to John Stewart
