Malcolm X was an influential leader who urged his followers to use “any means necessary” in defending themselves against the aggression of the whites. He was born as Malcolm Little in 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska as fourth child in a family of eight children. His father was a Baptist minister and due to harassment by a local hate group, he moved with his family to the state of Michigan in the town of East Lansing. As a way of signifying his rejection of slavery, Malcolm Little charged his name to Malcolm X.
