One of the reasons why AMA did not want the formation of prepaid health was because they saw it as an opportunity for the private sector to use their medical and health credentials for personal gains. The concept was new in the country and benefited either individual physicians or private health facilities. As a result, it was seen as a way to make more money than to help the sick in society.
