Midlife is a person’s stage of development that begins at the approximate age of forty years and spans up to sixty-five years. During this period, a person experiences certain physical and psychological adjustment. Erik Erikson describes the eight different psychosocial stages a person goes through. The midlife stage of development falls into the seventh psychosocial stage; which is Generativity versus Stagnation (Cherry, 2018).
