Therefore, many people seem to favor moral luck more than moral principles when applying moral judgments. It is because moral luck does not require someone to analyze a case critically, provided the outcomes are clear. For example, unintentional stepping on someone’s toe may cause someone to be blamed, without considering whether the person intended to do so or not. As a result, people find it easy to judge others on the basis of moral luck. When it comes to the application of moral philosophy, most people do not like it. It is because moral philosophy requires people to look at issues using a different point of view. For example, the person who happens to step on another person’s toe does not deserve the blame if the person did not intend to do so. It means that someone can do something wrong but still be moral if the person intends to do good deeds.
