Secondly, ever since my encounter with the aforementioned family friend, attending college has always been something that I have aspired to do. Through interaction with peers and professionals from different fields, I was made aware that attending college provides one with the opportunity to secure a good job. According to Giddens et al. (2016), it’s true that individuals who have passed through college have high prospects of earning more pay than others. This is for the reason that, employers are seeking who are skilled in a specific field. This is not to mean that those who have not gone through college cannot be successful. However, those with a bachelor’s degree are usually given priority in job markets. My fear was, if I fail to enroll into college I will not get a good job I will struggle to afford housing, health care, and a college education for any children I have.
