Having gone through the “Nationalism and Class conflict in Mexico from 1910 to 1920”, it is clear that the aspect of nationalism in Mexico between 1910 and 1920 was overshadowed by class conflict. I seemed that most of the individuals who arose in the leadership position during this period did not find the binding factor to achieve the cohesion needed to achieve nationalism and drive the country forward. Venustiano Carranza, as much he tried to push nationalism in the country, he did it in the midst of class conflict. In another dimension, it is true that Carranza was only interested in political reforms but not social or economic reference. Ideally, nationalism does not only encompass one facet. A holistic nationalism entails the four pillars of a country’s development: political, economic, social, as well as spiritual aspects. All the four must be intertwined so as nationalism can be achieved (Richmond, 1987).
