Action research is a form of inquiry in which a problem is identified and a series of actions are planned as a way of gaining deeper understanding of the range of possible solutions. The purpose of this discussion is to promote reciprocal sharing of your final action research report with others in your community of practice (your peers in this course) who would value the knowledge you have gained through the action research process.

How would the asset allocation differ between a 25 year-old who is saving for retirement and a 67 year-old who is beginning retirement?

Watch Princess Mononoke, and then, analyze the film according to the previous four weeks’ reading. What does the film suggest about the causes and solutions of human alienation from nature? Do the film’s insights fit with Cronon (from Week One)? With White (from Week Two)? Is the film’s point of view closer to deep ecology or agrarianism (from Weeks Three and Four)?

This week requires the student to address six unresolved issues in macroeconomics, each of which is central to current political debates. Students are required to use information and tools that they have accumulated in their study of the text and evaluate both sides of those issues, determine which side they can support for each issue, and defend their positions.
