Parenthood” is the title of a 1989 film featuring several renowned actors, including Steve Martin, Joaquin Phoenix, Keanu Reeves, Dianne Wiest, and Mary Steenburgen. The movie embraces a mix of comedy and Drama in its quest to address issues that tend to affect ordinary families. A large percentage of the storyline borrows from the real experiences of the directors and producers of the movie. The main character is a man named Gil Buckman, who works as a sales executive. In the film, Gil faces an uphill task of balancing between family life and his very demanding profession.
