You need to choose two organizations. First, choose an organization that shows positive examples of an OB-related phenomenon that you’re interested in. For example, if you are interested in the effective management of work-life balance, you need to identify an organization which has managed the issue effectively and positively. Or you may choose an organization without a phenomenon in mind and then identify its positive practices as you investigate the organization. (Please tell me very briefly why you picked them and explain your reasonings)

Next, your second organization has to be one that you think is failing to be a positive example of the phenomenon of interest. Here, your second organization may be a great, successful organization in general (or financially), but may just fail in dealing with that particular phenomenon of your interest. You need to choose the second two organization which has similar backgrounds to the first ones (e.g., both in the similar industry, with similar size, and/or with similar employee population), so that the comparison between the two organizations can be more straightforward. The two organizations can be public, private, or not-for-profit organizations (or part of one) to study. (Tell me briefly why you picked them)
