Pride and Prejudice is a novel by the author Jane Austen, classified as a romantic comedy. The main characters of the story are Elizabeth Bennet and Mr, Fitzwilliam Darcy as the heroine and the hero. Pride and Prejudice revolve around the Bennet sisters mostly the two elder siblings that are Jane and Elizabeth. It looks into their personalities, the misunderstanding that they have and the role that pride and prejudice play when it comes to their relationships. Their family is of low status in the society which ends up affecting their marriages.  Jane is more soft-spoken than Elizabeth is. Bearing to the fact that the story setting is of a long time ago, family status was such an important aspect. The story shows how an unlikely pair goes through a lot of challenges before they can finally become a couple and get married. Pride refers to the opinion that a person has of themselves while prejudice is how a person feels that others perceive them. Mrs. Bennet believes that marrying well is very important so when Mr. Darcy and Bingley arrives in the city she sees it as an opportunity for the daughters.(1482words)
