For the strategy to be effective, an action plan needs to be put into place. This plan should contain a detailed course of action of what is needed to make it successful (Fitzpatrick, Wischenka, Appelhans, Pbert, Wang, Wilson & Pagoto, 2016). Since the student uses almost all of their free time playing online video games and watching the movie, they should be encouraged to start a journal where they log their activities for a regular day. They should then be motivated to slowly change their daily activities by replacing an hour a day on screens with other activities such as walking.
