Majority of the pyramids began as traditional mastabas only to advance to one of the most excellent forms of architecture. During the beginning of the dynastic era, 2950 B.C tombs were crafted in curve form made of rocks and roofs covered with flat mastabas, a precursor to the pyramids. Pyramid builders assembled numerous stepped layers of stone that eventually attained the desired height of about 600 feet.
