Read a qualitative nursing study. If a different investigator had gone into the field to study the same problem, how likley is it that the conclusions would have been the same? How transferable are the research’s findings?
Answer preview
Transferable refers to the act of transferring results to the real life. For instance, if a study already done was able to establish the cures of certain disease, then that cure would be used to treat the disease. The study would be transferable. This is because it can also be used in other contexts and situations. This would, however, be dependant on the evidence that was produced and also how the study was carried out (Simpson, 2002). It has to have enough evidence that supports the conclusion and it also has to have been carried out in an ethical manner. It will also depend on if the study is also applicable to other areas of nursing. In a situation where the conclusions of the same study differ the user would have to determine which evidence is more reliable
