At the semester’s onset, I perceived marketing as an activity that a seller of specific goods and services embarks to improve brand awareness and boost sales. I thought that all an individual or corporate entity had to do was formulate a creative narrative to attract clients. While creativity is an essential part of marketing, I have realized that it is not enough. The course has helped me to appreciate that marketing must be conceived from a consumer’s perspective. I have learned that a good marketing strategy must be consumer-focused to increase the likelihood of resonating with the targeted audience. Marketing literature notes the evolution of marketing from a sales-driven activity to one that depends on forging robust relationships with consumers
