Reflection on Marketing

The aim of this individual reflection is to demonstrate how your marketing knowledge personally progressed across the semester in ways that helped you better appreciate and understand marketing.

Answer preview
At the semester’s onset, I perceived marketing as an activity that a seller of specific goods and services embarks to improve brand awareness and boost sales. I thought that all an individual or corporate entity had to do was formulate a creative narrative to attract clients. While creativity is an essential part of marketing, I have realized that it is not enough. The course has helped me to appreciate that marketing must be conceived from a consumer’s perspective. I have learned that a good marketing strategy must be consumer-focused to increase the likelihood of resonating with the targeted audience. Marketing literature notes the evolution of marketing from a sales-driven activity to one that depends on forging robust relationships with consumers
