World War II is generally identified as the time when, for the first time, the American women took various responsibilities outside their homes in huge numbers. Before World War II erupted in 1939, women were not allowed to engage in any activity outside their home duties for any form of payment. This was, however, only allowed for the traditional female professionals such as the typists and cloth makers. During World War II, everything about women changed where women in large numbers were recruited in the workforce between 1940 and 1945[1].
