In the land of Israel, a severe drought hit the lands which forced people to migrate from the lands. Elimelech, his wife Naomi and their two sons Mahlon and Chillion were not spared either. They immigrated to the nearby land of Moab. While in Moab Elimelech died and afterward the two sons Mahlon and Chillion married Ruth and Orpha respectively. After a period of ten years, the two sons died. Naomi summoned the two ladies and asked them to return to their mothers and get married again there. Orphan agreed and left but Ruth told Naomi that she is not going and that she would follow her and everything she does for the rest of her life (Bible, 2015).(821words)
