Nivette, A., Eisner, M., & Ribeaud, D. (2017). Developmental predictors of violent extremist attitudes: A test of general strain theory. Journal Of Research In Crime & Delinquency, 54(6), 755–790.
Answer previewThe article seeks to evaluate attitudes of violent extremism, mainly using the provisions of the General strain theory. In this case, date from the waves of Social development for children and youth (z-proso) in combination with that from the Zurich project are used to carry out the research work. Well informed techniques are used to help in the achievement of attitudes on violent extremism. Other conditional effects were used to reinforce the research case. From the article, it is identified that collective strain lacks a direct link to attitudes of violent extremism upon having control of other variables. Conditions of collective economic and social strife trigger the occurrence of extreme violent pathways, especially for those who are exposed to breaking the rules.
