A case study was considered for the qualitative research design focusing on women acting in leadership positions and looked forward to applying for principal posts. Another research method in the study was convenience sampling (Steyn, 2015). A purposive selection of fifteen teachers from the foundation phase including white, black and colored female teachers from four schools participated in the study. The other method in the research was individual interviews to establish the experiences and perceptions of the participants based on the factors that aspired women to seek principal positions.
