Media play an important role in spreading general and specific information. Today the most common media platforms used for spreading information include Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (Bode, & Vraga, 2015). Media platforms have become important social institutions whose effects on communities such as the US are critical and can influence how well we fight disasters such as Covid-19. Sharing information on the media also includes general information on social, economic, and political aspects. This high reliance on media for spreading information means there is an increasing need to address concerns on the value of information and related effects of the media environment on the population. Some instances of spreading information are personal as individuals take responsibility to share their experiences in different issues that are a concern to the public.
