Any journalist should never jeopardize the media at large to be seen as misleaders, but they should always act in ethical practices which encourage civil discussion with the public about news content, coverage, and practices of journalists. The Lanza story was such a crucial coverage of information because small children were killed, and others were traumatized. Journalist was supposed to take their time, gather clear and true information without using outside sources as the content was reported on all news platforms inside and outside the United States (Hill, 2012). Also, they should be able to acknowledge mistakes, explain corrections and clarification clearly and carefully hence rectifying the mistakes promptly.
