Advocacy is part of the nursing ethics which has been faced with many complex and fragmented health care systems. That has put patients and families in an overwhelming situation as they lack the essential information necessary to make informed decisions concerning their health (Godsey, Houghton, & Hayes, 2020). It has led to advocacy at the microsocial and macrosocial levels of health care to help address individual and community health disparities. With their advanced education and their experience, they have from taking care of patients and their families, nurses are at the best level to advocate for patients’ needs, their communities, their professions, and for themselves.
