Environmental measures in a disaster situation include the provision of adequate volumes of water free from contamination, facilities to dispose of human excreta, hand washing, protection of food from spoilage, and the provision of housing and shelter” (Novick, L. F., Morrow, C.B., & Mays, G. P., 2008).
