Leary-Joyce (2010) illustrates that once one realizes that it is up to them for change to occur, they make it their initiative to ensure that the desired change actualizes. Understanding that by enforcing the culture of taking responsibility, I would effectively achieve more in the workplace, I made it a habit to develop my performance goals and organize my schedule on how I would work on each item that contributed to my performance. An important aspect I have always considered is seeking guidance from my superiors whenever I needed clarity and collaborating with colleagues through teamwork to attain the desired results. Understanding that it was upon me to ensure the stellar performance of duties delegated to me, I committed to paying attention to the details relating to my job and directing my efforts in attaining my goals. Some of my efforts toward my performance were reporting to work early for an early kickoff and staying ahead of my schedule to achieve more.
