Answer preview
Legal regulations as they apply to systems security are quite multifaceted, requiring the security professionals to understand which law is the most appropriate to implement when addressing system crimes. In my understanding, professionals should conduct thorough investigations to determine how the crime occurred and measures to take to preserve the gathered evidence. During the investigations process, Stewart et al. (2012) inform that the probing team should identify the areas of compliance that the suspected criminals break the law. I believe this creates an opportunity for the team and the plaintiff to have a solid case. Considering that internet-based crimes occur in different jurisdictions globally, having policies that reinforce compliance and constant regulatory tests to evaluate the security systems can help reduce the threats (Stewart et al., 2012). With that in mind, I have learned that this strengthens systems’ security, preventing information breaches in networking.
