The story explains how the narrator ended up killing the old man who to him he had an eye of a vulture, which made his blood run cold. The narrator is haunted by the death later on and is found guilty after he admitted to the police. The story is a flashback, as the narrator talks of how disease sharpened his senses, and how impossible idea of murdering old man got to his mind, which has haunted him night and day (Kennedy, 2006). Foreshadowing found in the story was when the old man produced a slight groan, he felt something terrible would happen, and true there was a plan of his death. The fights in the story are when the narrator kills the old man believing he would not see the pale blue eye again and would have peace.
