Blockchain technology has existed for some time causing a revolution in record keeping in the organization and the business itself.  The technology was initially developed for use in the cryptocurrencies like bitcoins.  The technology has evolved drastically over time, and its existence now extends beyond bitcoins. One of the areas where the technology impact is clear is in the accounting professions. Major accounting firms have invested in understanding the technology and how it would dictate the future of their operations. One clear research outcome is that blockchain technology is there to say and it will only advance in its impacts.

The technology has had a significant effect on the accounting as several changes have had to occur to adapt to the needs and capabilities of the blockchain. The process of recording and storing information could change significantly if the use of blockchain is made an official thing. Through the implementation of these new computer systems in the accounting process, many changes will have to take place within the same period, and accountants will be most affected. The consequence, in general, has been that the accountants in the industry have been affected and even some do not understand the technology or how to use it.
