Answer preview

Sharia can also be viewed as a comprehensive way of living to attain submission to God, which is the essence of Islam. The law has four primary sources. The Quran is considered the first and main source as it reveals the words of God to the Prophet Mohammad (Alqudah, 2017). It is the most significant and highest source of sharia, considering other sources cannot contradict it. The second source is the Sunnah; Sunnah is described as the collection of prophetic doings and words and facts that Prophet Mohamed accepted. Quran validates Sunnah as a source of sharia law which orders Muslims to adhere to the Prophet Mohammad (Alqudah, 2017).
