- Identify a company that struggles with employee motivation. Make your choice based on evidence from resources you find. Be sure to document these resources so you can include as citations and references in your paper. The company may be currently active or no longer operating.
- Not sure how to start? Try googling “Worst companies to work for” or “companies with poor motivation.” Numerous sites list companies that are struggling in differing areas. Once you identify the company you want to research, google news articles or other sites that include information about the company and the situations affecting motivation/challenges.
- Research the company and the associated motivational challenges.

- Note that extrinsic and intrinsic motivation are types of motivation and should not be presented as theories, but as variables within a theory.

However, the corporation has recently been chastised for the high extra costs it imposes and its poor working conditions. Ryanair has also been linked to the deliberate stirring of controversy to create free publicity and ads.
The company’s employees had shares within the company. The company had made a contract agreement with the employees that they would buy shares on the condition that the employee would not be a member of any labor unions as it would impact the organization’s operations. The company, to date, refuses to recognize the labor unions hence impacting the employees as they are limited in voicing issues that directly impact them. The airline also has bad working conditions for its employees; for example, the cabin crew must work six one-way flights per day, including weekends, and in some circumstances, seven days in a row without a break (Efthymiou et al., 2021). Employees are anxious, weary, and unsatisfied due to these working conditions. High levels of stress are linked to bad results for employees, including lower productivity and a higher chance of developing health problems. Employee turnover is significant due to the company’s bad working conditions.
