Describe how the nursing profession is viewed by the general public. Discuss factors that influence the public’s perception of nursing? Describe ways to educate the general public on the professional nurse’s role and scope of nursing within a changing health care system.

Nurses are professionals working in healthcare facilities all over the world. Their main objectives in the hospitals are to take care of the patients in the recovery process from different types of illnesses. However, in the outside world, there is a different perception of what people think about the nurses and their profession. A nurse is viewed as a person who stays in a hospital and is responsible for making sure that a patient gets to take the prescribed medicine on time. Other people from the general public don’t have an idea that there is a difference between a doctor and a nurse (Hoeve, Jansen, & Roodbol, 2014). This kind of group from the general public calls the nurse a doctor and sees the two of them as one. Other people get to acknowledge the full roles that a nurse play. They have an idea that it is not easy to be a nurse and very much respect their efforts…
