However, scientific and strategic approaches to management are different. The main difference is that scientific management focuses on the success of business operations, while strategic management focuses on competition. Scientific management focuses on introducing new methods and techniques in the organization to improve the existing operations. For example, if sales are dropping, managers can decide to invest in advertisements to attract more customers.  On the other hand, strategic management focuses on introducing new tactics in the organization to make sure that the organization is better than its rivals (Carayannis, 2018). For example, an organization can use brand and product strategy to improve its sales more than its competitors. Another difference is that scientific management focuses on short-term goals, while strategic management focuses on long-term goals. Therefore, strategic management ensures the survival of the organization in a competitive market, while scientific management ensures that the organization is running smoothly.
