Infrastructure is arguably another cause of Miami traffic. The population and economic changes taking place in the 21st century strain the available resources in the country. The ever-increasing population of people living or moving in and out of Miami can arguably strain Miami’s transportation infrastructure like expressways, mass transit options, and so on (Quintana,1).  The current size of the expressways connecting Miami and avenues within the city limits the flow of traffic. Also, inadequate mass transit options create an incentive for people to use their personal vehicles to commute from one point to the other (Koźlak, and Dagmara,3).  Moreover, the expansion of the various expressways and avenues intensifies Miami traffic. The county government, in conjunction with the state government, is expanding some roads to facilitate the free flow of traffic.  To allow construction activities to take place, some contractors block some lanes, which intensify traffic congestion.
